Reporters are dangerous

I think there's an obvious reason why Barney was selected to be the White House dog - he identifies the threat and responds with force. Don't forget: Scotties RULE! (Or perhaps he's just suffering from post-election stress; after all, Barney doesn't look at the color of people's fur, but rather the quality of their character and ideas.)

That reminds me...

Bella and Zoey's blog entry about the many benefits of having a Scottie in your life, reminded me of a recent encounter I (well, okay, WE) had with a GIANT RAT! As mentioned in the Rama girls' blog, Scotties are excellent at removing rodents from the premises. However, before I finish the telling of this exciting "tail", please let me remind you that the story "Ratatouille" is fictional. In reality, rats are VERY DANGEROUS.

Valiant and I were strolling casually around the horse farm with nothing much to concern ourselves except eating turds and enjoying the sunshine. That was about the time that a wretched scent reached our noses, suggesting that there was a rat nearby. Another brilliant part of God's creation of the Scottie: we're small enough to root out critters from their hiding places, but BIG enough to chase them down once they surface. Unfortunately, Tramp (I mean Mr. Darcy) got in the way and tackled the rodent before we had a chance, but all's well that ends well, right? We're calling it a team effort. (Abbreviated version: details omitted to keep blog child/cub/puppy friendly).
