Never let go of the things you love

By Valiant McGary

When it's someone you love

Hold on as tight as you can

Grit your teeth

And pretend you have a plan

If Mummi's headed out the door

I grab her leg

Brace against the floor

And plant myself firmly like a peg

I growl and fuss

And don't let go
'Cuz I know my mummi
will do anything to keep her toe

So, grab on to what you hold dear

Never let go of what you see

Be of good cheer

And
learn from me!

Life, Liberty and Pursuit of all Fairies

"To be, or not to be (a fairy lover), that is the question." (what a silly question!)

Sometimes it helps me to put things in context...

Mostly Patrick Henry quotes:
"I have but one (fairy) lamp by which my feet are guided..."

"If this be treason (to love fairies), make the most of it!"

"I know no way of judging the future (fairies) but by the past (fairies)."

A Mostly George W. Bush quote:
Bring them (the fairies) on.

A Mostly Bill Clinton quote:
You can put wings on a pig, but you don't make it a (fairy).

Virginia is for (Fairy) Lovers

Well, I've been an exceedingly busy bear, with my auntie VA (in case you're a little rusty on your state abreviations, that stands for Virginia) visiting my place this week. Valiant and I had the opportunity to show her some of our favorite moves, made her birthday party a real party (what's a party without a bear?), gave her the scenic tour of Barton Creek, taught her how to swim against the rapids, gave her horseback riding lessons on my horse, helped her understand the true meaning of "dirty" and showed her a little on-the-spot "family time" (mummi and daddy cuddling with two bears perched on top). We even took her tubing and showed her how to not stay in the tube to make sure you get swept down with the current and cause mummi and daddy to panic. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!

We offered to have her stay "fur"ever. Valiant even told her that she would be willing to show her where she hid her bone last if she promised to stay permanently. Mr. Darcy made it clear that his devotion was unwavering and he would sit on her as consistenly as possible. I told her that she could see my fairy antime she wanted (!!!!!!!!) if she stayed here. She had to go, though, and we're having a hard time "bearing" the loss. (Sniffle, sniffle, whine, whine).

So, now we're just trying to take each day as it comes. We love having company come to see us so that we can show off our apartment, horse, favorite outtings, and Mummi and Daddy. If you see my auntie, let her know that paws down, she's on our list of recommended aunties.

The World as I see it...

My mom and dad think I should write a book. That way others can see what I see (fairies) or at least it will help them to see the world as I see it. I don't know... sounds like a lot of work, but I'm a pretty hard-working bear, so if anybody's gonna' do it, I suppose it should be me. What do you think?

Vacation from this vacation

So we just got back from a mini vacation in Arizona and we pretty much had a really great time. My auntie J graduated from high school and so it was really important that we were there, since we're her family and all.

I've included some photos of our hiking excursions for your enjoyment.

Valiant had to be carried by mommy on the way back because her toes were hurting. She's just not as tough as me... I didn't have to be carried until I tore my toenail off and my foot started bleeding. I'm just a really tough bear.

We got to go up to our "cabin" on the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff, and that was super fun! We did some more hiking up there, ate lots of people food, sat around the campfire, told scary stories (about flies) and slept outside underneath the stars (kinda' scary because the coyotes in Arizona sleep during the day and are awake at night so I kept one eye open all night just in case one of them decided to pay us a visit). It was fun because we got to go to bed early every night, before the sun went down, to read our books together. I just love family time. I slept at my auntie's feet most of the time - gives a whole new meaning to the word "bearfoot" doesn't it?
