When I think of fairies

it makes my heart sing. I want to jump up, start dancing (like a bear) and running around the house (after my fairy). I want everyone else to be as excited as me because fairies are real and I see them everyday!

On another, much less interesting, note: Life has been pretty challenging for me this week. My Rama cousins are visiting us for the next couple of weeks and it's tough to share my apartment, my parents' cuddling and my sister's adoration. But I'm an understanding bear for the most part, so I'll just go with the flow (unless somebody sits in my blue chair - growl).

We're currently working together on a mission. We've all 5 (including Mr. Darcy) been taking turns throwing up in the past two days, so we're keeping Mummi and Auntie pretty busy. Bella and Zoey have topped off the effort with an occasional tee-tee and tu-tu on the floor, so we've got pretty much every bodily function covered. Maybe this will help Mummi see that her bear (+ friends) really needs her to stay home and not go to work. I'll keep you posted on the success of this mission.

A Bear's thoughts: Irrational Human Behavior, Item 1

As everyone knows... many humans have this alarming ritual of shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't have any problem with shopping, per se. What I can't quite get through this brilliant bear brain is why any sane bear (or human, as the case may be) would go shopping on the same day that they know every other bear in the vicinity will also be out shopping. It sounds positively dangerous and chaotic, not to mention "unbearable". So if you're hoping to run into this bear tomorrow morning, you will find her sleeping soundly beneath the comforter at the foot of Mummi's bed, next to a Valiant puppy and one of Mummi's feet (there's only room for one, next to the two black furry bodies). Good night, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my adoring fans.

Thankful Bear

In light of the Thanksgiving holiday, I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the things that this bear is thankful for.

  1. Fairies: fairies bring light into my life and keep my feet swift.
  2. Mummi and Daddi: they're really great about taking care of me and making sure that my life is extraordinarily more than "bearable".
  3. Valiant: she makes everything more interesting because she's enthusiastic and intense. I love to play "run around the house like crazy bears" with her, practicing my strategy and kung-bear moves. She might cover more ground as we race through the house, but the truth is that I get places faster because I strategize about my next moves, making me a very energy-efficient-bear.
  4. Mr. Darcy: he's a good dog and when the family is out, he makes for some great company, though he does steal my food.
  5. StarPucks: Fairistas and Chai Tea Lattes.
  6. Movie-time: cuddling, couch time, popcorn, and the family.
  7. My auntie: she's really great about hanging out with us while mummi and daddi are away. She gives us milkbones, afternoon outings and sometimes even peanut butter kong toys. Everybody needs an auntie around.
  8. My chaise lounge chair: great for curling up on a cold day or watching the neighbors and parking lot happenings.
  9. Nap time with daddi on the "poof": soft, down feathered comforter, with daddi to rub my tummy - no explanation necessary.
  10. There is so much more I'm thankful for...

Partying is Dangerous

Some of you may know that last night was Halloween. Mummi, Daddi and Auntie decided it would be fun to go to a party at Tiffany's house and dress us (Valiant and me) in identical sweaters (I'll post photos later). There were a lot of people there, and I didn't know very many of them... I thought it was pretty dangerous. There was a Ninga with a knife, a soldier, a pot of gold, a witch, a raggedy Ann doll... and I'm pretty sure that they were all using fake identities. It was highly suspicious.

I tried to stay on the perimeter of the location to monitor the situation and make sure everyone was behaving according to protocol (i.e. normal human behavior). I was pretty exhausted by the time we left and what a relief to come home and have some quality time with just the family.

Valiant was completely oblivious to the danger of the whole situation. She was dancing with the dancers, playing with the little people (which, as we all know, can be very un-predicatable), kissing everyone, running around like a wild woman and acting as if the party was wonderful. I guess that makes her a party animal?
